Focus 10: Mind Awake/Body Asleep is an article I wrote a while ago using as more meditative approach to reach the state of mind awake/body asleep.

It provides an alternative avenue to establish the out-of-body state if you do not want to rely on natural sleep rythms to establish the out-of-body state.

Be forewarned, however, that most people find it difficult to reach the level of sensory reduction required to induce an OBE using this approach.

If you want to have an OBE as soon as possible, then you will probably be more successful with the VIGIL METHOD.
